Returning Home

by Toni ShilohReturningHomeFinal

Jo Ellen Baker is shocked to find out that the boy who teased her mercilessly throughout high school, has returned to their hometown of Freedom Lake, and he’s missing a leg. When his mother asks her to renovate their carriage house to give him a place to gain his independence back, she wants to say no. But one look at him brings a rush of forgotten feelings.

Evan Carter can’t believe he has to return home and live with his parents. Every hope and dream he ever had dissipated in a car crash that cost him his leg. Stuck in a wheelchair, he’s forced to reexamine his relationship with God and the local carpenter, Jo Ellen Baker.

Will renovating his home open the door for a mended relationship, or are some wounds too deep to heal from?

This is the first book by Toni Shiloh that I am reading. I keep seeing her name online–Facebook and other places. I’ve been meaning to read one of her books. So when the opportunity came up to read this one, I jumped for it!

Well written, soul-stirring.

The prologue of the story starts off with Evan and his soon-to-be fiancee. And then there’s a car accident.

After that, Evan is to say the least, quite changed.

Jo enters the picture. She’s a contractor hired by Evan’s mother to do some remodeling. To say that she and Evan had a history from their school days is an understatement. And that wasn’t in a good way.

These characters are very well written. Realistic, but not without their flaws.

The story pulls you in right from the very beginning. I don’t want to put it down! No, I’m not finished yet, but it won’t take me long to reach the end!

If you are looking for a clean, contemporary Christian romance, you might want to give this one a try! My first book by Toni Shiloh, but it won’t be the last!
