Falling For You by Becky Wade
This book is a FIVE star book!
I started reading it and just could NOT stop! (Yeah, um, it went kind of late last night, so I’ll just have to deal with my tiredness today…)
What first caught my attention was the gorgeous cover. In my mind, Becky Wade’s books all have some of the most eye-catching covers. They make me want to read them right away.
But it does take more than a beautiful cover to keep me up at night.
For me, it was the characters. And the very real issues they faced. Beautiful model Willow is all that you’d want in a heroine. And then there’s Corbin, who’s none too shabby…
The author slowly brings in the back story, the details of what went wrong between them. Slowly, and yet, it’s just the right tempo.
And, another thing that I really loved about this book–an old mystery that needs to be solved–such an intriguing story line!
Becky Wade has such talent when it comes to crafting stories that draw you in and leave you wanting more.
Forgiveness. Finding the way to deal with difficult things, mostly by facing them head on and working through them, rather than ignoring them or trying to find a way around them. These are only a few of the issues that challenged me.
(Side note here–there are some difficult issues mentioned in this book. Including premarital sex, and more. I advise parents to use their own discretion regarding your daughters reading this book)
I trust there will be a third book in this series. Because I can’t bear to think of leaving this family hanging here…
I think this book is probably my favorite fiction book I’ve read yet this year!
Back cover blurb from Amazon:
Famously beautiful model Willow Bradford is taking a temporary break from her hectic schedule to work as the innkeeper at her family’s small-town bed-and-breakfast. She was enjoying the peace of her hometown, Merryweather, Washington, right up until she came face-to-face with Corbin Stewart, the man she loves to hate. A thoughtful rule-follower by nature, Willow threw caution to the wind four years ago when she entrusted her heart to Corbin–and suffered the consequences when it all fell apart.
Former NFL quarterback Corbin is forceful, charming, and accustomed to getting what he wants . . . except where Willow Bradford is concerned. Unable to forget her, he’s never stopped regretting what happened between them. When their paths unexpectedly cross again, he’s determined to make her give him a second chance.
When a decades-old missing persons case finds Corbin and Willow working together, they’re forced to confront their past and who they’ve become–and whether they can risk falling for one another all over again.
I normally try not to blog about a book before it is actually released. However. This one will be releasing in only a few more weeks, and if you love Contemporary Christian fiction, I encourage you to preorder it now! 🙂 (or request it from your library)
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
