Book Reviews

I’ve read several good books lately…and wanted to post reviews, but wow! Summer is here in all of it’s busyness!!

For now, I’m just going to share the book, and a rather short review. If I get a chance, I might change that later….

First, I want to tell you about a book that I read that really impacted me.

Bonnie’s Choice2372-416x632

This book is a bit different than most that I read in that it is an autobiography/memoir type of story. The author is a lady I’ve known for a large part of my life. Her story is absolutely amazing. It’s sad. It’s hard to read. And yet, there is so much Joy and Hope found in these pages! It shows us very clearly what Jesus’ love can do in our lives. I have been very blessed and inspired by reading about Bonnie’s life!

The other two books I want to share about today are fiction, and of a complete different nature than that one up there. After reading a book with such heavy stuff, these feel quite a bit more light hearted.

This next one was especially that way:

Wooing Cadie McCaffrey51xr7XBJl9L._SY346_

I found this to be a deliciously delightful, light-hearted and fun romantic comedy type of a story.
Cadie McCaffrey is tired, yes downright tired…of being in a relationship that is fast going nowhere. Her boyfriend Will is completely clueless, and she can’t handle it anymore. So she ends it.
And this is where the fun begins.
Will loves her, and is determined to spend the rest of his life with her. No matter what it takes.
But…somehow, they just never quite are on the same page.
The results are fun, a bit humorous at times, and other times, quite sad….
If you enjoy fun, romantic comedy, you won’t want to miss this one!

and the last one is a suspense novel

Living Lies by Natalie Walters9780800735326

This is an exciting suspense novel from a new-to-me author!
The main character, Lane, is dealing with lots of hard issues, including depression.
Because of her chance happening across a dead body, she finds herself caught in the middle of a murder mystery, and is drawn to the new detective in town, Charlie Lynch.
This is spellbinding, and intense, the whole way through. It faces some hard issues head on, and then a bit of romance is thrown into the mix.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and look forward to reading the next one in the series!
