My Thoughts
This is the second book in the exciting Montana Marshalls series by Susan May Warren. I just finished reading Knox, the first book, and this book continues right where that one left off. (Let me just say…I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait to read it!! But you will definitely want to read them in the right order)
This is Tate & Glo’s story. I liked them already in the first book, and couldn’t wait to read their story!
Tate is a bodyguard, but he has a difficult past. And he’s not sure he deserves anything good. Glo is stubborn. She’s already lost one man she loves, and she definitely doesn’t want to lose her heart to another man she’ll end up losing.
Glo’s in a hard spot. She’s lost her sister. She’s always felt abandoned (or neglected) by her mother…and now her mother wants her there with her as she follows her political aspirations. But does this mean she’s throwing away any chance at a relationship between Tate & herself?
And Tate…he’s been hired as Glo’s bodyguard. But this means that he had to strike a deal with her mother. And he has to see Glo being escorted everywhere by Slick Sloan.
Yeah…lots going on here…and there is also some suspense involved.
I couldn’t help loving them and rooting for them, right from the get-go. Ms. Warren has a such a way of weaving her stories…the characters come to life and feel like friends.
One other thing…just as you reach the end, you reach another place of extreme tension in the story line where you feel like you just HAVE to keep reading…these are the kinds of things that Susan May Warren is so good at delivering. So stay tuned for Ford–releasing later on this year!
If you enjoy contemporary Christian romance with a hint of Western thrown in, you won’t want to miss this one! (Really, the entire series! 😉 )
