Halloween and Christians

Today is Halloween, one of the most celebrated days of the year. Statistics show that people spend a lot MORE money decorating for Halloween than any other holiday!

Why?!

Is it ok for Christians to celebrate Halloween?

Do you know what Halloween is a celebration of?

Why do YOU celebrate Halloween? What does it mean to you?

Personally, I believe that Halloween is not for Christians. It’s origins are all about worshipping the devil and darkness.

Even something as innocent as pumpkin carving…where does that originate?

Here’s what one webpage had to say:

Glowing jack-o-lanterns, carved from turnips or gourds, were set on porches and in windows to welcome deceased loved ones, but also to act as protection against malevolent spirits.

Do your own research…is this really something you want to promote?

“Abstain from all appearance of evil.” I Thessalonians 5:22 This is only one of many verses that are given to us in the Bible telling us to stay away from anything that appears to be evil. God’s people should not be seen doing questionable things.

Now…I do know that many people do not celebrate it for this reason. They see it as something fun to do. But… why would I want to have anything to do with a holiday that stems from Satan worship?

I’m stepping out on a limb and sharing my personal opinion here, not because I am judging  you if do not share my beliefs, but rather because I have a concern that many people are simply unaware of the dangers associated with this day.

Search it out for yourself, read the Bible, search the internet, see what you can find.
