Book Review- Sons of Thunder

51SZlGcZkrLThis is not a new book, but rather an oldie that I was just made aware of. I received an ecopy of this book to post a review. This was a gripping story!
My review:
This fantastic story took me from a small village in Greece to the life of immigrants in Chicago, and on into the middle of WWII.
The characters are so real. The story line is hauntingly beautiful in all its tragedy.
Markos. Dino. Sofia. I loved them. Their charming home in Greece. And then everything becomes a huge nightmare.
Their journey, and then the life in Chicago. So “heart-strings-tugging” good.
I’ve been a fan of Susan May Warren’s books for quite some time, but this is completely different from anything of hers I’ve read before. I just didn’t quite know what to expect (because I do love her contemporary style…). I was hooked from the first page.
(There is some violence described in this book, along with some other details, that might be a bit too much for younger readers, I would recommend this as a book for older teens)
This is a must read for lovers of historical Christian fiction.
